The International Studies Program offers a B.A. degree in international studies based on an interdisciplinary
curriculum that provides both a global perspective and a comprehensive
view of a selected geographic region of the world.
International Studies seeks to broaden the student's outlook
by utilizing an interdisciplinary approach
to learning which combines study in languages, history,
culture and the social sciences. The program
is based on the understanding that the world is increasingly
interdependent and that a global
perspective on various issues is becoming necessary for a
complete understanding of internationalaffairs. Areas of regional focus include Africa, East Asia,
Europe, Latin American and the Middle
East.
This degree affords an excellent foundation for careers in which an understanding of international
economic, political, social, and cultural affairs is of importance; it also provides a solid foundation for graduate work in the field.
